Why women must diet to have a wedding gown

Although hundreds of thousands of women get married every year, for a large percentage of them, buying the most special gown in their life is anything but a wonderful experience.
That's because the vast majority of women do not fit into the dresses on display at the bridal boutiques. Trying to find anything above a size 14 is almost impossible. In fact, most women are shocked to find out that the size on the label, is not even the size of the gown.
wedding-dress sizes run smaller than sizes for street clothes, and, according to market-research firm IBIS World Inc., average sample sizes at bridal retailers are 12-14, which may actually fit women who wear Sizes 8 to 12 in regular clothes.
The only option women have is to go on a drastic diet in order to wear a wedding gown, spend a lot of money having a dress custom made, or, finding the right size but in an outdated style.
Retails say that if they cater to larger sizes then they will not be able to carry as wide a selection of dresses.
